Lacey Rose Miller

DNP, CNS, APRN, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Lacey Rose Miller is a perinatal clinical nurse specialist who has worked at multiple birthing hospitals & hospital systems in the Pacific Northwest. Her background at the bedside consists of high-acuity & high-volume labor, delivery, obstetric operating room, recovery, & postpartum nursing care. Her graduate education from the University of Washington, afforded her a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as a perinatal clinical nurse specialist, & a Global Health Graduate Certificate specializing in Women, Children & Adolescents. She loves to collaboratively work on complex practice improvement projects for hospital systems that improve the outcomes of families & newborns, & she loves to support nurses caring for clinically complicated patients. She is the current Legislative Coordinator for the Washington State Section of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. She proudly serves on the Washington State Maternal Mortality Review Panel as their Lead member in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. Lacey is a mother of two young children. If she finds free time, she’ll want to spend it in her orchard, on a bike, or in a forest with a heavy backpack.

Deidre Miller

MSN-Ed, RNC-NIC, C-ONQS

Deidre Miller is a nurse educator and practice specialist currently working at a hospital system with six family birth centers in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. She has worked as a NICU nurse & NICU nurse educator and program developer for 18+ years. She started her career at UCSF Children’s Hospital where she was a founding member of the Neuro-Intensive Care Nursery—a unit dedicated to the neuroprotection & development of newborns. She currently oversees the neonatal resuscitation program at Legacy’s 6 birth centers & 2 NICUs that includes training & practice development. She also has special interests in quality improvement, policy development, & trauma informed care. She is passionate about translating evidence into practices in a way that ensures safe patient care, & ensuring nurses are working at the top of their scope—a known job satisfier. Away from hospital work Deidre has served as a legal expert, President of the Northwest Perinatal Resource Network, is an adjunct professor at Concordia University’s nursing program, & co-chair of Oregon AWHONN’s conference committee. Outside of work Deidre enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid runner—always training for an upcoming event. In the summer you’ll like find her at her cottage in Northern Michigan with her family.
